J.J.'s sixth album and first since returning home finds him firing on all cylinders, from hard driving Rockers and roadhouse Boogie to uptown Blues and swinging Country. It stayed in the Roots Music charts for several months with a healthy second wind shortly thereafter. Reviewers praised the diverse-yet-cohesive sound of the album noting it's three-part structure that opens with a dreamy prelude, drives hard through rockin' boogie and Blues, takes a turn uptown heading into Jump Blues and Texas Swing, then an interlude shifting into Country/Americana mode for reflection. The Jump Blues barn burner "Stinky Twinky" is one of J.J.'s most popular numbers and this studio recording is one of the last recordings by honkin' sax pioneer and icon Big Jay McNeely. Three videos were shot but one remains unfinished. Album download bonuses include an alternate take of "Stinky Twinky", the infamous "Three-toed Midget", and behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
