The Reverend Double J
preaching the gospel of the boogie
J.J. Vicars & The Desiatos tear up stages and pack dance floors wherever they go with their trademark Outlaw Blues. Snarling guitar and rough-hewn vocals coupled with rumbling bass and a driving backbeat form a good time gumbo of har drivin' Blues, Boogie, and Rock 'n' Roll.
Known for his marathon performances, he stretches songs out to marathon lengths working his band and his audience into an ecstatic frenzy of rocking liberation much like the Rhythm & Blues honkers and shouters of yore. He peels off guitar riffs jumping from Country to Jazz to Blues during a single chorus in between belting out tales of love, lust, and general wayward behavior in a voice that can only be earned by putting in a lot of late nights. A minimalist, he relies solely on a Telecaster and a simple tube amp to work his magic and a rhythm section to round out the sound.
A "lifer" and an ex-pat JJV has cranked out his good-time Roots-rockin' euphony around the world for three decades. Six full length albums, three singles, two side projects, several guest appearances, and eight music videos fill his catalog.
